It's called "compromise" people. This is what American politics should be about. He hasn't picked a position and decided that regardless of the situation, he will never sway (if you like that, take a look at Bush and his various war/terrorism policies). He's realized that in order to improve the energy situation, he's going to have to agree to some things he'd rather not. If he's looking at the big picture and has realized that in order to meet a long-term energy goal, he's going to have to make some sacrifices short-term, I see no problem with it. Flip-flopping is completely reversing a past decision; compromise is giving some to get more.

Who actually uses reiser4? I haven't been keeping up with the news on it, but last I checked few of the major distros supported it out of the box. I tried for a while, but having to patch and compile every kernel release to get it in there was a pain.
