xptoast, I think for many people the annoyance comes from the inappropriate use of these "cutesy, fun" fonts for situations that are neither cutesy nor fun. Whether the person realizes it it or not the font used in a sign or document conveys a certain attitude the person/company wants to convey. This means that for your law firm you should not be using Comic Sans if they want to be taken seriously. Also, some of these fonts MIGHT be appropriate for a few word heading but quickly become overwhelming and difficult to read if used in an entire document.
